Q:

Air Filter Sponge Discontinued--Replacement? 358352360 Craftsman Chain saw

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the difficulty you're having locating a replacement air filter for this Craftsman chain saw. I know how frustrating that is to have happen.

It does look like the air filter has since been discontinued by the manufacturer with no direct substitution offered. However, I would recommend running an internet search for part number 530-023791. There are still air filters in circulation online, and you should be able to locate a replacement going that route.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Wade_B, do appreciate the link, yet my lil craftsman chain saw does not have that type of oil pump. Nothing behind clutch. I copied the link to the diagram for the engine and it shows the pump in lower corner of case opposite side of the filler cap. Hope the link will paste here. I will try to find a inspection device for confined spaces as for cylinders or spying. I need to learn to include more info when asking/posting a question. "Thanks again, Wade_B." John (The oil line will get installed, one way or another. FNO .)

John, I had the same problem with my saw. The expert advice was of no to use to me either. If you will remove the plate opposite the filler cap the pump can be easily removed. you will have to remove the chain bar. There is a small hole behind the bar at the top. Just insert your oil line thru the hole and push it thru far enough into the oil tank to be able to grab it with a wire with a hook on it, you can pull the end of the tube out and connect it to the pump. Reinstall the pump and cover. This solved my oiling problem. Bob

Q:

bar oil comes out too fast. 358352360 Craftsman Chain saw

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more then happy to assist you. If you feel the oil is coming out to fast, I recommend checking the pump areas for leaks. If the bar oil leaks, it usually leaks during use as well as stored. If you are using any oil besides the correct bar oil, this could be the issue. Other oil is thinner and can leak. Hope this information has help you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can Click Here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Any further questions or concerns. You will have to post a new question because at this time I can not reply to any comments. Again, Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.
