Thanks for sending me the link to the u-tube video, however, the video is for a Pulan chain saw with a primer bulb and my chain saw doesn't have a primer bulb. I can't figure out how and where the fuel line runs from the fuel tank to the carburetor. There is a barbed fitting on the carb. where I think the fuel line connects but, I don't see where the fuel line is supposed to come out of the fuel tank? .

Eric,

I am sorry the information did not match your model. I suspect your chainsaw is older. The older units did not have primers. If you could please reply below with the model number, I will be sure to give you the correct information.
I hope to hear from you.

Eric,

Thank you for adding the model number. The fuel tank on this model should have a hole in the top of the tank. To access the top of the tank you need to remove the starter assembly. Once it is removed, you should be able to pull tank out to see the hole for the fuel line. Just above the tank, you will see a hole in the housing the fuel line passes through to the carburetor. When you install the fuel line in the tank, be sure you pull enough through so the fuel filter lays on the bottom of the tank. I posted a link below that shows the basic steps to replace the fuel line. Click on the link below to watch the video.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Mark

Q:

On a craftsman 36cc chainsaw what's the trick to install a new starter recoil spring?

A:

The best method I have found is to wind the spring outside of the starter pulley. If possible get someone to tie the spring together in several places with small string. You can tie the spring several times as you wind it up, or wait until you get it wound and then tie several rings of small string around the spring to hold it.

Place the spring on the starter pulley and push it into position. When the spring is in the position you want cut and remove the string.
