Q:

Separate fuel tank? 358351380 Craftsman Chain saw

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
Sorry to hear of the leaking fuel from the chassis body, I know how frustrating that is to have occur.
You are correct on the fuel tank setup of this model. The fuel tank is made into the body of the saw. It is a replaceable item with part number 530056894. It will require that the entire saw be taken completely apart and rebuilt. Due to the price of the part and labor costs it may end up being cheaper to buy a new saw.

Sorry for the inconvenience with the issue/design on this saw. Newer chainsaws will have a separated fuel tank for easier access/repair. Hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

Oiler does not work 358351380 Craftsman Chain saw

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your chainsaw is not receiveing oil to the chain. I did look into the model number you have provided  and I have found information to assist you. I recommend checking tghe oil pick up to see if there are any cloggs preventing oil to the chain. If there is no clogs then the next step is the check the oil pump.

In order to fix the issue you will need to replace the oil pump. It does come as a whole assembly, in which, coms with a new oil pick up.

When the oil pump goes out then the chain will not get oi supplied to it.

oil pick up- 530038373- make sure not clogged or blocked.

Q:

A bought a carb repair kit 530069826. It has no instructions even though the web site says they are included. do you have instructions 358351380

A:

I have attached a link for a video below to help you with this repair. This is actually a 2 part video, so when the first one is finished, look on the side bar for the part 2. Even if your machine is not a chainsaw (what he's working on in the video), the carburetors on practically all 2 stroke machines will be set up the same way.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

A:

Check the fuel lines to make sure they aren't cracked or kinked. Check the fuel filter as it could be stopped up or partially stopped up. I will also mention that there is a check valve in the carburetor that cannot be accessed that could possibly be causing this problem. Normally when that check valve is faulty, the machine will prime up, but it floods severely, so I just don't know that that will be the issue here.

What you describe is fuel line problems or carburetor problems. I know you've dealt with the carburetor already and I'm sure you've had a look at the fuel lines, but that really is practically all that it can be (meaning something awry with one of those).
