Thank you for the reply. I saved the diagram to my desktop (Windows 7). But it is to small to read. So I tried enlarging it. However, when I do that I cannot read the diagram at all. It is really fuzzy. In the diagram I can see the Assy Air Purge button (ref 15 in owners manual parts list) connecting to the Carb (I think) in the diagram. But I dont know which carb connection. I don't know why there are blue and black lines in the diagram. The carb has two connections for the fuel system. The Black colored plastic one is at a RIGHT angle on the carb. The brass colored one comes straight out of the card. Which one do I connect the air purge line too? Again thank you for the quick reply. Ralph Phone: 510-742-1577

thank you sam. will the parts come with a schematic? there appears to be 3 different pieces of fuel line involved. my lines have completely deteriorated and the only pieces left are small dregs attached to things (like the fuel filter and the purge bulb and the carb) dont know where they should be connected to each other. but its is nice to know that i do not need to buy a replacement carb. actually i dont need the purge bulb either unless the lines are pre attached in a way that i cant replicate myself. and really i dont need a filter except that i have no idea when the filter was last changed. the saw worked perfectly couple months ago. wouldnt start couple weeks ago and i noticed there was no fuel pull through the purge bulb. took the purge bulb out and that is when i saw the fuel line(s) were in pieces.

Thank you for the update on the chainsaw fuel lines. I will send you a diagram for attaching the fuel lines below. There are two different size lines. The thinner one is for the fuel filter to the carburetor. The thick line is the line from the carburetor to the primer and from the primer return line to the fuel tank. I am not sure if the lines always have some instructions but most of them do. Sam A.

Q:

How do I replace fuel lines on15yo Craftsman 14 inch, 2.1 cubic inch chainsaw model number 358.351040.

A:

Fuel lines deteriorate and don't always stay connected to get a look at the routing. While you wait for the expert response, I did locate a similar question and a video that may help. I attached the links below. I hope this information helps.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the chainsaw. We do not have any written instructions for replacing the fuel line on chainsaws but I will try to help you. First, remove the air filter cover and the air filter. Then draw a diagram of how the fuel line is routed. I have also provided you with an image below showing the fuel line circuit. Then remove the all of the old fuel lines from the saw. When you are ready to reinstall the line cut one end so that it is tapered about an inch up. This will give you something to stick into the hole of the tank. Once in the hole reach into the tank with long forceps and grab the line and pull it through. Once you have it pulled in cut the pointed end off and install the filter. The line should be long enough so the fuel filter is on the bottom of the fuel tank. Then do the same for the return line. The only difference is the return line only has to be sticking in the tank about a half an inch.

I have found a few videos that I think might help you. Please click here to watch the first video . Then click here to watch the second video.
