Q:

fuel leaking from unit; I can see inside the gas tank when air filter cover is removed. What is missing? 358350270 Craftsman Chainsaw

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your chainsaw and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 35835270 and if you are removing the air filter next you will have air filter housing item 4. The filter housing is attached to the carburetor then you have the carburetor adaptor item 8 then attaches to the cylinder item 20. Here is a video that shows the fuel line being replaced. This will help in determining what parts are missing if any. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Q:

Craftsman Chain Saw Model 358350270 358350270 Craftsman Chainsaw

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

The chain saw has a self-oiling port for the chain, it’s going to have a little leaking. To help but not remove completely open the oil cap to relive the pressure on the oil reserve tank. Also I would just set the chain saw on a piece of card board.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

Chainsaw 358350270 Craftsman Chainsaw

A:

The small line should go to the tank and have the fuel filter on it. The larger line should go from the carburetor, over to the inlet side of the primer bulb. From there, the same size tube should go back to the fuel tank. Once the larger fuel line enters the tank, it just cuts off there as it is a return line and does not need a filter or anything.

I appreciate your response, but it didn't answer my question. My question has to do with the larger line goes to which connection on the carburator from the primer? The two connections on the carb looks about the same size. They are both on same side of carb, one is top front and other connection is lower back.

I believe on this model, the larger line will go to the top tip on the carburetor.
