I am sorry to hear that the chassis kit is no longer offered. I know how frustrating that is.

Patching the tank with silicone, glue, or epoxy will not likely work. The tanks are made from polypropylene, and those will just peal off. The fuel will eat through silicone and glue. Epoxy would hold if it could adhere to the tank. The only viable solution is to purchase a plastic welding kit, which essentially heats plastic and melts it to the tank. You could take it into a local plastic repair shop and have it patched. Either of those choices should work.
