Q:

saw does not keep running 358350060 Craftsman Gas chainsaw

Q:

Maximum recommended bar size? 358350060 Craftsman Gas chainsaw

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

You can very likely find an 18-20" bar to replace the 16" bar, but it is not recommended. The manufacturer sets the bar length to work well with the engine size. If you lengthen it, it creates more drag on the engine, and performance will take a hit. Over time this will cause the engine to wear out faster.

Swapping to a bigger bar and/or different cutting type chain is a practice that is seen more often in wood cutting industries where the saws are not the same as the consumer models. Those saws were constructed with the engineer knowing that it likely going to be ran all day for 5-7 days a week. If you do decide to go with a bigger bar make sure that bar takes the exact same chain type as your current bar unless you plan to change the sprocket.

Q:

Fuel line help on chainsaw #358.350060 358350060 Craftsman Gas chainsaw

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your chainsaw and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number 358350060 and the connector on the end of the primer line should be in the tank. To install the connector you need to feed enough of the large line into the tank so it will come out of the opening. Then cut the end of the line straight and install the connector. Once it is on the end of the line, pull the line back into the tank until the fitting seals against the hole in the tank. I hope this is helpful. I have included an image of the line routing and video that will help. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.
