Thank you for your question on the built-in sharpener for the electric chain saw.

I am sorry, but it is true that the sharpener parts for this chain saw are no longer available.

You may want to change the bar and chain to the different style so you can sharpen it with a file or electric sharpener.

The Oregon part number 27856 will fit you chain saw but you will have to remove the sharpener on the saw to install this and then you can use a file or some other type of sharpener to sharpen the chain as needed.

Chain and bar combination for 358.34031 chain saw .

I hope this will work for you.

This piece looks to be used for helping to control the flow of oil from the oil reservoir to the oil pump. I cannot find any mention of it outside of from the parts images. I contacted the manufacturer for more information but it may take a couple of days to hear back from them. When I do get word back I will post that information here on this thread.

I wish I had more information but with this being an older item most of the information has gone away.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

Hi Wade, what I think that gauge is used too stop the flow of oil out of the tank when the case is split. The gauge fits in the shaft hole and the gauge pushes in the plunger of the oil pump. The gauge is then stored on the post near-by. I will wait for answer and thanks for all your effort. Harvey

While I'm waiting for your answer, I put the chain saw back together. I used the gauge to align the oil pump/plunger and I think that is the purpose of the gauge, we will wait to see what answer you get.

I think you may have it. I've not heard back from the manufacturer on this. I check with 2 other techs and they both tell me that the best they can remember is that the "gauge" works directly with the pump. This is a very odd situation as I am not able to find a photo of this piece and very little information on it.
