Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the chainsaw. I will do my best to assist you in the repair. We do not repair many electric chainsaws because they are not cost effective to have the repaired. The labor cost usually exceeds the value of the saw. I will base the following instructions off the parts list. First, unplug the saw and remove the bar and chain. Then it looks like the chain sprocket has to be removed. Once it is removed, remove the screws that secure the two halves of the housing. Then separate the two halves slowly. You need to watch the switch area when it comes apart. We often get the question how position the switch because the switch fell out when they separate the saw. Once you have access to the switch install the switch and reassemble the saw in the reverse order.

I hope this is helpful.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the saw.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
