Thank you for your question on the 12 volt Multi-Tool.

I do not recognize the numbers you have given me for the multi-tool.

I am familiar with the model 320.17438 kit and the model of the tool is 320.61199 12 volt Nextec multi-tool.

Please look on the tool if it is a Craftsman or Nextec to see if you have different model that I can work with.

The tools that I am familiar with when the light begins flashing will mean one of two things.

Either the battery needs to be charged or the internal battery monitor has shut down the battery to protect it from damage if it is overheated during use either by stalling the tool of overworking the tool.

This will come back on when the battery cools down. If you model has a Lithium Ion battery it will not usually slow down as the battery is depleted, it stop quickly when it gets to a certain low battery condition.

Please let me know if you can find a different model number and if it is a Craftsman or a Nextec model multi-tool and I will be glad to help you further.

A:

Thank you for your question. I looked up the multi tool. The battery monitor is part of the power control board. I am afraid if you try to disable the battery monitor the unit will not work. I recommend replacing the power control board if the battery monitor is faulty. The part number for the board is 4890548001 and can be ordered from the following link. Craftsman tool parts I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Mark T
