Question and Answers

Q:

Snowblower 31AS6WEG799 31AS6WEG799 Mtd Snow thrower

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.
I added a link to the Operator's manual that may be helpful. The spring is connected to the idler arm and the other end will need to connect in the area where the spring would pull the idler arm back to release the belt tension. I could not find any images showing the exact spot where the spring would connect. Look for  small hole with wear marks and that is likely where the spring would connect. I hope this helpful. If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician fix this problem, you can take the snow thrower into your nearest Sears Repair Center or Sears Store.

Q:

How to replace a snow blower tire 31AS6WEG799 Mtd Snow thrower

A:

Unless the tire is rotted and cracked, its easier to repair a flat tire in place. Set the snowthrower on a wooden block to raise the tire off the ground, cinch a rope or bungee cord around the tire in the middle of the tread. As you tighten the rope, the sidewalls will seat on the rim with a little help and you can inflate it with a small compressor or pump. If the tire has a leak, tire sealant like Green Slime will stop the leak. Good luck.
