Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to repair the snow thrower.

Without the model number I can only give you a couple of suggestions.

The model numbers will look like 247.XXXXX or 536.XXXXX or 917.XXXXX. The model numbers are usually on the back belly pan of the snow thrower.

I think you are referring to the to bearings on either side of the auger housing and if you are having trouble getting it back in it may be because it is bent and will not line up with the hole.

Check that the augers are not interfering with the alignment. You may have to use a bar to pry on the auger shaft to get it line up.

If you could send me the model number I could look to see how this one is built to give you a more precise answer.

Thanks 31AH64EG795 I'm trying to put th collars back on (see Pics below). There is not enough room to get the augar shaft into the collar that attaches to the the side of the augar housing. I was thinking of prying the housing open a little to squeeze it in but I was afraid that would mess up the alignment a little? It only has to be pried open an inch? Any suggestions or is prying it a little ok?

Thank you for the update and the model number. This is a MTD branded snow thrower. Thanks for the pictures. It looks like you are doing it correctly. Can you shift the auger one direction and slip the bearing on, then shift it the other direction to get the other bearing on, and then bolt then in place. Yes you may have to use a little prying pressure to get the bearing onto the auger shaft but it should be ok. I wish you well. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for your question.

I have checked for the engine manual for your snow blower but was not able to find it. I was able to find a Craftsman model that has the engine instructions and service schedule. Please click on this link to view the Manual . I am hoping the manufacturer will send me a copy of the owner's manual for your model. If they do, I will post it below.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
