Q:

Top-mounted wheel? 319190622 Craftsman 6 inch bench grinder

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

Unfortunately, we were unable to locate any of the literature for this unit. The top-mounted wheel is a dressing wheel, which would dress the surface of the grinding wheel by knocking off any abrasives, or true the grinding wheel if it's out of balance or shape.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

It can be difficult to find the information needed for older power tools. Although I was not able to locate a copy of the manual, I was able to locate a copy of the electrical wiring diagram. You can view in the image below. You may also find the parts diagrams helpful here; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this helps meet the needed information. If we can be of further help, please reply. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you very much Barbara. The diagram posted is for an 8". I have a 6" and things look different. Coming from the grinder motor, there are 4 wires, two whites and two reds. Coming from the switch, there are three black wires. Coming from the capacitor, there are two wires, a black and a red. Can anyone out there make me a diagram so I can put it back together? I cut them by accident.

Thank you for the reply. The wiring diagram is for this base model, but there apparently were some changes to the wiring. We do not have a updated diagram for the 6" grinder that you have. I am sorry. You may try a local machine repair shop for help with the wiring and parts. If we can be of help in future, we hope you will return.

I've found a couple diagrams that may help with wiring my bench grinder. However, the images are so small I can't make out any detail. How do I get a larger image with enough detail to read?
