Q:

How to install thrust bearing #977097001 315214500 Craftsman Band saw

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about the trust bearings on your Craftsman band saw model 315214500. I am so sorry we did not answer your question in a timely manner. It was an oversight on our part. I will be happy to help you with how to install the thrust bearing, part number 977097001. I have included the link below for you to view the owner’s manual online.

Page 17 of the manual has the information on adjusting the thrust bearings. You will need a 1/8 in. hex key to loosen the thrust bearing screw to remove the worn part. I have included the link below for you to order the replacement part, in case you have not done that yet.

SAFETY WARNING: Disconnect the power supply before beginning your repair to prevent the risk of electrical shock which can result in property damage, serious personal injury or even death. If you are not comfortable completing this repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.
