Q:

ROUTER SITTING A WHILE AND WILL TURN ON NOW. CRAFTSMAN #315.175050

A:

Thanks for contacting manage my life about your router model 315.175050, I will be glad to assist you. If I am correct you are explaining is that the router stops and after sitting it will run again.  If this is correct then I would suggest a good cleaning of the vents and all areas that the motor has to pull air into motor area. It sounds as if the thermal cut-off is getting hot and resets after sitting unused. If cleaning does not help then the motor would need replacing. I hope this helps you, if you need more help reply with more details and I will be happy to respond.  If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services. Ron H.

Hello Ron H. I did not make it clear.. Sorry about that. I have not used this Router for at least 4years. It has been sitting in a storage area in the back yard. I now have a workshop , 12 x22, and wanted to use it again. It does nothing when i apply the start grip handle. I have not checked the brushes, but I believe that I will try to take them out and see if maybe they are stuck. Thanks Tom
