Q:

#31517461 Owner's Manual 31517461 Craftsman Craftsman router

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

Unfortunately, due to the age of the router, the manual is no longer available in hard copy and is not being offered digitally for download. The only option I can foresee would be to run an internet search with the model number to see if you can find one that someone has uploaded onto a forum or such.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Having to work on a appliance can be quite the job. I have taken the time to research the model number provided on the Manage My Life and was not able to locate any information on the model. While you are waiting for an expert to reply I recommend on confirming the detailed model number to your appliance, once confirmed reply back to this thread with the detailed model number. Which will allow an expert to reply with a detailed answer to your question.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to slow the rpm's of the router to suit differing routing projects.

I have seen over the years many accessories products that say they will not damage the router windings, with its variable speed control.

The manufacture does not recommend using these because they cannot know what type of voltage control system the manufacture of the product is using to not over heat the motor windings on the router.

There are some good quality speed controls on the market and if I were to purchase one I would look for good reviews and you may have to pay up to $40.00 to get one worth having and to protect your router.

Speed control .

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
