Look at the parts diagram for the saw and be sure you have installed the washers and spacers behind and on the front side of the blade.

You should be able to tighten the blade bolt by hand enough that it will be pressing the washers against the blade.

Put a large nail or a small screwdriver in the groove of a tooth on the blade so it will stop the blade from turning as you tighten the blade bolt.

The rotation of the motor shaft will try to tighten the blade bolt as the saw is running. The blade bolt should be snug but not exceptionally tight.

The washers on the blade operate as a slip clutch if the blade jams.

Q:

the diagram of the saw 31511820 Craftsman Sears craftsman 7 inch circular saw double insulated

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and for contacting us with your question about your Craftsman 7 inch double insulated circular saw model 31511820. I am so sorry the power cord needs to be reconnected. I have included the link below for you to view a copy of the parts diagram.

Due to the age of this product, that is all the information we have on this saw. While I understand wanting to complete this repair yourself, in this case, I advise against it. This product has a double insulated system. Any repair of this tool requires dielectric testing to ensure the operator’s safety. To avoid the possibility of alteration or damage to the double insulated system, service should only be performed by your nearest Sears repair center. The repair must be completed using the necessary diagnostic and testing equipment to assure continued compliance with applicable UL requirements. After the completion of the repair, the product must be checked using high voltage testing equipment to prevent a severe shock hazard which may occur if the part is not properly installed and tested.

For these safety reasons we do not have a technical manual or electrical diagram that we can provide you.
Here at SearsPartsDirect.com we love to help you with your do-it-yourself repair projects, but in this case, for your safety, the router should only be repaired by a qualified technician with the proper testing equipment. Thank you for your understanding in this matter and thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.
