Q:

rubber posts 31511690 Craftsman Sander

A:

Thank you for being a Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about the rubber posts for your Craftsman Sander model 31511690. I am so sorry the part you need is no longer available. Sears only provides manufacturer original parts or their guaranteed replacements. That way we can ensure the part will fit and function properly.

If the manufacturer had made a part that would work, the part number for the rubber post would have automatically substituted to the replacement number. In this case there is no replacement part.

I am sorry we are not able to get the part for you. If you have further questions please resubmit your question with additional details. Thanks you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

Repair attempt 31511690 Craftsman Sander

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
The two halves of the body will have tabs that fit into each other. After all the screws are removed, you will need to work around the seams and use a small screwdriver or pick tool to slightly pry the case while working around. After so many years of being together, it will be stubborn to open up. You may have to use multiple small screwdrivers or picks to pry, leave them in the section, and continue prying and work your way around until it finally breaks aparts. That method has worked for me when separating the bodies of various power tools.
Hope this suggestion helps, and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.
