Question and Answers

Q:

what's the lifetime for a battery or charger of a cordlees drill 315115510 315115510 Craftsman Cordless drill

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
For Craftsman cordless drill model 315115510, I see that it uses a Ni-cd battery pack. The average ballpark lifespan for this type of battery is about 5 years, give or take.
There are a lot of factors in that lifespan. How often it's used, whether it's being allowed to fully discharge before being charged back up, and how they are being stored, whether indoors in climate control or outdoors in non-climate controlled environments.
Typically, the battery pack will be at fault in this type of situation, and if you have another battery, you can plug it into the charger and see if it charges. However, life is not always that simple, so if you don't have another battery, you will need a multimeter to check the voltage on the terminals of the charger. Usually if the charger is defective, it will show a meter reading of 0V, or something pretty close to zero.
The part number for the battery pack is 11375 and the part number for the charger is 140155006 if needed.
Hope this helps and let us know if we can be of any further assistance. Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

my cordless drill (model 315.115510) no longer has any torque, which part do I need to replace in order to restore the torque? 315115510 Craftsman Cordless drill

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when having trouble with the drill.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Craftsman model number 315.115510.

I see your model number and that you are needing the chuck because you need to restore the torque.

I am sorry to say though that the chuck is NO LONGER AVAILABLE.    The only option I know to go from here is take this part number 6903330 and use your search engines like google and see if another place still has one of these in their stock somewhere.  Good luck

If you have further questions please let me know.

Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Bill, thank you for replying, unfortunately you failed to address my question. I don't have any problem with my old C3 Craftsman products. They all work fine with the two OLD DieHard batteries that I have. I want to try UPGRADING the batteries to the newer PP2030 or PP2010 Lithium Ion batteries (which are still in the old C3 product style). My question is "Are my older C3 products compatible with either the PP2030 or PP2010 battery?" My current C3 Power Tools are: 315.115930, 315.175980, 315.115860, 315.115510. Thanks, Claud
