Q:

how to replace the elecrical cord for craftsman 7 1/4 circ saw model 315109030 315109030 Craftsman 7-1/4 inch circular saw

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Craftsman electric  7 ¼ inch circular saw model 315.109030. I am so sorry the electrical cord needs to be replaced. I understand wanting to replace the part yourself. In this case we advise against it.

This circular saw has double insulation construction. This means the electrical cord represents an important part of the double insulated system of this tool. Any repair of this tool requires dielectric testing to ensure the operator’s safety. To avoid the possibility of alteration or damage to the double insulated system, service should only be performed by your nearest Sears repair center. The repair must be completed using the necessary diagnostic and testing equipment to assure continued compliance with applicable UL requirements. The saw must be checked using high voltage testing equipment to prevent a severe shock hazard which may occur if the part is not properly installed and tested. For these safety reasons we do not provide technical instructions for a do-it-yourself repair.

Here at SearsPartsDirect.com we love to help you with your do-it-yourself repair projects, but in this case, for your safety, the circular saw should only be repaired by a qualified technician with the proper testing equipment. Thank you for your understanding in this matter and thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

My Craftsman circular saw blade shaft wobbles. What causes this?

A:

If you will go to www.searspartsdirect.com and enter your model number, you can see a parts diagram and list for your saw. The bearings (front and rear) show up on the parts diagram.

I feel sure both bearings need to be replaced.
