Question and Answers

Q:

3 HP motor fuel tank 298585190 Craftsman Gamefisher outboard motor 3.0 h.p.

A:

Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com, and for being a valued member.

Unfortunately, the fuel tank for this particular outboard motor has since been discontinued with no current substitute being offered. The original tank of 401-35500-200 at one time substituted to 668-9823. The only options I could foresee would be to run Google searches for those part numbers to see if you can find any still offered for sale or in circulation.

I hope this helps, and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the boat motor. If the engine does not have any spark, I recommend disconnecting the kit wire first. The kill wire should be located on the ignition coil. Once it is disconnected check for spark again. If you still do not have spark the problem could be in the breaker assembly under the flywheel or the ignition coil. I have checked the availability on the parts and both of those parts are no longer available. You might be able to find the parts from a vintage outboard shop or online.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
