Q:

Schwinn 430 Elliptical Schwinn 430 Elliptical

A:

Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Schwinn 430 Elliptical. I will be happy to help you change it from metric to English.

To switch to English you will need to press and hold the UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. Next use the UP or DOWN button to select "ENGLISH" and press ENTER to confirm.

The computer enters the Information Mode. Follow the prompts on the display menu and you can select ENGLISH units of measurement. Press ENTER and the sofware version will display. Press ENTER again to exit the Information Mode.

Unfortunately the information I was able to review on your elliptical did not cover the function of the toggle switch on the back of the console. For information on that, I recommend you contact Schwinn directly. Their customer service number is 1-800-626-2811.

I hope this answers your questions. If you need further assistance, please resubmit your question with additional details. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the snow blower. To remove the cable from the transmission use a pair of needle nose to squeeze the tabs to release the cable from the holder. I have provided you an image below showing the transmission assembly and how to remove the cable. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired by a Sears technician. Here is a link that will provide the nearest drop-off locations: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Mark T - Can you please re-post the images you posted on 2/8/11 or re-send the URL? I'm facing the same issue while trying to replace/remove the drive cable on my Craftsman 247.88779 snow thrower but couldn't find the "tabs" you mentioned in your 2/8/11 message (and the images in your 2/8/11 post were somehow too small/blurry for me to gain additional insights/clarification into your solution). Thanks.!

Hi Mark - Appreciate the quick reply. My specific issue/question is the drive cable on my Craftsman snow thrower (Model# 247.88779) broke the other day. I have ordered the replacement cable (with its housing) from Sears Partsdirect website, but am having difficulty removing the existing (broken) cable housing from the holder near the transmission at the bottom of the snow thrower. I found this discussion thread, which seems to address precisely the problem I have ... However, I could neither locate the "tabs" you mentioned in your above 2/8/11 message nor view the images you posted in the same message ... So yes, can you please email me a more detailed instruction and/or a less blurry diagram on how to release the drive cable housing from its holder next to the transmission? Thanks again!

Edward and Lee, I am sorry the images are not working at this time. For some reason they do not enlarge to full size. I will be happy to email the images to you. If you could please post a new question requesting the images and include attention Mark in the title. Once you submit the question I will have your email and will send the information to you. I do not recommend posting your email address on a public form like this because of the problems it could cause for you. I hope to hear from you. Mark T.
