I thought the part shows up in my question but I don't see it. The part is a high limit thermostat, P/N 347297, sub P/N 279080. Like to know if this part is burnt out, does it cause the dryer to produce no heat?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance not working.

The hi-limit thermostat could stop the making of heat on your dryer.  Other components that could cause this problem is the timer and the operating thermostat and of course the heater.  The hi-limit should be closed if ohmed using a multimeter.  It should only open up and shut the heat off if there is a clogged vent or some restriction in the air flow of the dryer.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Q:

Kenmore dryer # 110.76691100

A:

Clothing is a big part of the family budget. You do not want to see stains or scorch marks when they come out of the dryer. While you wait for the expert to review this model dryer, I did attach two similar questions with information that may be helpful. See the links below.

The sensor is most likely not the problem. This senses the dampness of the clothes. It only works in the automatic cycle. It is not used in the Timed Dry setting. There are two control thermostats. One is rated at 150 degrees while the other is rated at 135 degrees. Do the clothes seem to be over drying? You can remove the vent hose and check the temperature in the exhaust with a meat thermometer. One other thing is don't over load the dryer. The drum should not be more than half full and the items must tumble. The clothes should not be up against the holes in the heater box. The timer should advance through the cycle. Check the temperature in the exhaust. On a high heat setting it should cycle between 130 to 160 degrees. Let me know what you find.

The temperatures seem okay. Try reducing the size of the load and see if there is any improvement.
