Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I recommend checking the voltage supply a the electronic oven control across terminals TT1 and TT2. If voltage is present, the electronic oven control is bad. If the electronic oven control is bad, it will have to be taken out shipped out for repair to a company called CoreCentric Solutions

If voltage is not present, make sure the wall outlet has the proper voltage supply. If you do not measure 120 volts across terminals TT1 and TT2, then you will need to trace the power cord power supply lines up to the control board. I do not have any tear down instructions available to provide. If the surface burner spark igniters are not working then the power was lost before it even makes to the the spark igniter switches. Based on the age of the range I would seriously consider replacing the range rather than attempting to repair it if your not able to locate the loss of voltage. NOTE: I do not recommend making any voltage checks unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I suggest calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

How do I re-calibrate my oven control board?

A:

I could not locate the user’s manual or service manual for your model range. I was not able to locate any model specific information on calibrating the oven control board; however I found some information on calibrating various GE/Roper ranges. See image below. NOTE: 278 and 911 models that are Non Self Clean-Cannot be calibrated. (See images below.)

Thanks for the info. As my oven is not self-clean, I expect I won't be able to calibrate.

Q:

How do I clean a Kenmore non-self cleaning oven?

A:

You can use an oven cleaner such as Easy Off on the inside of your oven. Be sure to follow the warnings and instructions on the container of the product that you use. Some of these products will produce strong fumes.

In addition to Easy Off, I use a mild kitchen abrasive powder called Bar Keepers Friend when cleaning my own range. This product will not harm or scratch the porcelain finish inside your oven. It does a great job of removing spot and cleaning. It can be used on virtually all areas of the range.

The image below shows a cleaning guide for a typical gas range. Follow the tips in the guide for other areas of your range.
