Q:

I have a kenmore built in oven and it is no longer lighting.

A:

With a non working oven it seems impossible to be able to to cook again. I have taken some time to further your search and noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I have attached the link below so you can get an idea of what is going on with your oven. I have attached the link below. Hope this helps!

I understand your concern. The most likely failure is the glow bar igniter (key#4). Open the broiler drawer and start the oven and watch to see if the igniter will glow or not. If it glows and the gas valve never opens then you will need to remove and replace the oven igniter.

If the igniter is not glowing then the failure could be the thermostat, gas valve, igniter, clock or it could be that the clock knobs are set for time bake instead of manual operation. See image below Time Bake operation.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Why won't the clock work on my Kenmore gas built-in oven?

A:

I recommend checking the house circuit breaker for your oven first. Make sure that it is not tripped.

If the breaker is okay, then you may have a wiring problem or component failure. I am not finding technical information readily available for this oven. Parts may also be difficult to obtain for a do-it-yourself repair. I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair this type of problem.
