Question and Answers

Q:

Is this model blower and vaccuum? 257796351 Craftsman Craftsman electric blower

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
Due to the age of the unit, we are pretty limited with the model specific resources available. I don't see a vacuum bag offered in the parts list, which usually indicates it being a blower/vac, but you do have an inlet cover on the right side which appears it could acommodate the vacuum operation.

  1. On the right side, you will need to remove the screw for the cover and press the locking latch to open the inlet cover.
  2. Holding inlet cover open, slide upper tube into the air intake opening until the latch on the locking ring snaps into place.
  3. Install the screw in the screw tab on the vacuum tube.
  4. The blower bag would need to fit over the opening of the blower outlet. You may need to purchase a blower bag from Sears.com if you don't have one.
I have provided a manual for a similar model that is a blower/vac. On page 6, it covers the details I've mentioned above in regards to coverting it to a vacuum setup.

Hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

Can Someone Please Help Me Find Craftsman Impeller Assembly Part #3983-0-15?

Q:

P.C. Bridge burned out 257796351 Craftsman Craftsman electric blower

A:

The original part number for the PC bridge is 8528. I checked with the manufacturer. That part 534345406 is not a valid substitute for that part 8528. The manufacturer does not have a schematic for that PC bridge. They could not provide a valid substitute part for that PC bridge. That part is no longer available.

I wish that we could help you with this problem but we don't have the technical information needed to provide valid advice.
