Blower Assy. 257.796350

Q:

replacement bag 257796350 Craftsman Electric blower

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Craftsman electric blower model 257796350 doesn't show a bag within the parts breakdown for it.

Due to the age of the blower as well as not showing a replacement bag within the parts section, you will more than likely need to purchase an after market bag for it. Sears.com has a good selection to choose from.

For convenience, I have included a blue link below that you may click on to be directed to Sears.com to view the available bags for electric blowers.

Q:

How do I install an impeller in a leaf blower?

A:

The impellor should just screw onto the end of the motor shaft. No glue or Locktight should be needed as the motor torque is in the same direction as the threads so the torque effect itself will keep the impellor tight.

You might want to check the parts diagram on the Sears Parts site, which you can find using the model number and the instructions in the link below. In the Blower Housing section you can see that there should be 2 washers behind the impellor, reference keys 11 and 12, so if one of those is missing, or the clip, key 13, it could cause a failure in the replacement impellor. Damaged threads or a slightly bent motor shaft would also create issue.

You should also recheck the part number as the Sears Parts site shows the replacement impellor for your model as a part number 534398315 and not a 53439830. So you might have ordered or received the incorrect part altogether. If you do need to order more parts, you can do that direct from the Sears Parts site or use the numbers there to get them through your Sears Store.
