A:

It's normal to have a freezer take up to 24 hours to cool properly. This allows the temperature to stabilize before putting any food inside the unit.

Q:

Why won't the freezer door seal good?

A:

It doesn't mean the door is not sealing good if it stops making a whistling noise. Depending on environmental conditions and customer usage, when the freezer door is opened and closed, a vacuum may be created in the freezer compartment. The vacuum is caused when the warm air introduced is rapidly cooled. Unless there is a frost build-up other then on the evaporator coils the door is sealing ok. You can also make the dollar bill test. Place a dollar between the door gasket and the cabinet and pull on it. If you feel any hindrance at all the door is sealing ok but if it just slides out it would indicate the door may not be sealing good. Just because you don't hear the whistling noise does not mean the door is not sealing. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
