Question and Answers

Q:

Can't get new gasket to in slot 2539235716 Kenmore Upright freezer

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number 2539235716
and I believe on your model the liner needs to be loosened all around the door to allow a gap small enough to push the gasket lip between the liner and the door shell. I recommend taking pictures when you remove the old gasket. This will make it alot easier. I hope this information helps you and if you continue to have trouble installing the gasket you may need to contact a service technician.  If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Thank you and sorry for the delay in answering you, last week was crazy and I didn't see the email saying you responded. I did figure out that I needed to loosen the screws to loosen the panel and the gasket is in and looks correct. HOWEVER, we are still getting frost build up inside the freezer and when I insert a dollar between the door and freezer it slides out a little too easily. I just went down and warmed the gasket to try to make sure it was straight in all areas and out from the door and I put vaseline on the gasket. Anything else I should be looking at or doing? We thought the problem was the gasket initially because of the age of the freezer and the fact it was coming loose at the top. The frost build up is mostly at the top of the freezer. It is less now, but more then it should be still. Any thoughts?

Q:

Kenmore Frostless 15 Alarm will not shut off

A:

Once the temperature in the freezer starts going up, the alarms on newer freezers do start going off. I can understand how annoying that would be. While you wait for the expert to review your model, you can check a similar question from a previous expert post if you like. It has a check you can make. I attached the link below. Hope this helps!

I can understand your concern. The information you have already received is correct, about the temperature and alarm. Based on the information listed, this sounds like a seal system problem. It could be a low charge, a restriction or the compressor may not be pumping properly. These are checks a technician will be required to make. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . Thank you for using Manage My Life.
