Scott, can I ask a related question? Is it cost effective to recharge this freezer? It is low, so it must have a leak, right? I've been told that it is very expensive or impossible find leaks in chest freezers, so better to get a new one, even with this 1999 model. What do you think?

Sometimes the leak can be found in these freezers but not very often. If the leak cannot be found, the system cannot be recharged. If the leak is found and in a place that it can be repaired, it would probably be worth repairing. I hope this will help you.
