Question and Answers

Q:

How do I remove water dripping from the non removeable drain pan in a Sears Kenmore Refrigerator Model # 25378183800 ?

A:

Thanks for contacting manage my life about your refrigerator model 25378183800; sorry you are having a problem, I will be glad to assist you. First if you are sure the drain pan is overflowing but not leaking from a crack or hole in the pan, then it does not need to be removed. The pan can be removed but you have to tilt the refrigerator back to access a screw under the bottom of the pan. _Always disconnect power supply before servicing the appliance and be cautious of any sharp metals while accessing components_Most common way to remove water from the pan is to use a turkey baster. Access pan from the back or refrigerator. The pan is catching defrost water from the evaporator coil after the defrost cycles. Excessive moisture can be due to extreme humidity in the area you live in, door openings in warm areas can also affect the amount of defrost water. Setting the controls to run more and generate more heat in the condenser area will allow better evaporation from the pan also.I hope this is helpful to you, if you need more advice reply with added details and I will be happy to respond. If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services    Ron H.

Q:

Why isn’t my icemaker working?

A:

If the ice maker has water in the cube tray & is not cycling I suspect the cycling thermostat # 13. If the icemaker is cycling & will not fill I suspect the water valve # 55. You will need to check for 120volts to the valve when the icemaker calls for water if the icemaker cycles without filling. Another possibility is the fill tube # 51 is frozen up. This is usually caused by a bad water valve.
