Question and Answers

Q:

why does my refrig not cool when the outside temp gets into the 80s It is model # 25378135890

A:

An 80 degree ambient temperature will not affect the inside temperature of the refrigerator unless the doors are not securely closed & sealed. On something like this I suspect a freezer fan or defrost cycle problem. I recommend removing the freezer rear panel to inspect the evaporator cooling coils. If the coils are completely frosted up I suspect a defrost failure. If the coils have a light coating of frost I suspect a freezer fan failure. If the coils do not have frost at all I suspect a compressor or refrigerant failure. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.
