The answer Joseph P has good information about this problem. I am sending you some possibilities also.

I am assuming the freezer section is freezing good and the refrigerator is room temperature.

  • Start by disconnecting the power to the refrigerator and removing the food and the icemaker from the freezer.

  • Remove the screws holding the evaporator cover with the fan motor to the rear of the freezer. Remove the evaporator cover.

  • With a flashlight look through the hole in the floor of the freezer. This is where the cold air flows down into the refrigerator. Something is restricting the air flow. Usually this opening will be full of ice and frost.

  • The air from the refrigerator has to be drawn back into the freezer and recirculated to cool the refrigerator.

  • When you locate and defrost the blockage, the refrigerator should get cold.

I don't think anyone has suggested that. Please let me know thank You, Noel

Refrigerator cooling problems are not something you want with a fridge full of food and today's energy prices. I found a similar question with an expert post that provides several possible causes. I understand your concern when the refrigerator stops cooling. When the freezer still cools ok but the fridges section is warm, it's usually an air flow problem. First check the back panel in the freezer, for a heavy frost build up. If frost is building up, it indicates a defrost problem. As the frost gets thicker, the air flow to the fridge section will be reduced. In this case, turn the unit off for a few hours to allow it time to defrost. When the ice is gone, the refrigerator will cool ok again for a few days until it builds up with frost again. This will however, give you time to have a technician come out to check it. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . If you would like more assistance, additional details will be helpful.
