Q:

How to fix loose broken water tube? 25374223701 Kenmore Elite Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with the water tube. To remove this dispenser cover, pry the bottom loose with a small screwdriver and then pull the cover downward. I'm attaching some pictures with instructions to access this dispenser. Be sure to disconnect the power first. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

Scott, Now that I have the panel off the tube fell off. It looks like it was sealed with white Teflon tape. I tried small rubber gaskets to seal it when I put it back in place but it will not seal. It leaks from both sides where the holes are under the little brackets the panel attaches to. I need to see what the complete water tube looks like so I can see if it is broken. It really doesn't look like it. But, how can I seal the end connection?

Karen, unfortunately, there is very limited information about this dispenser. This would be something I would need to see. A picture or pictures may help. It seems the tube itself may need to be replaced and after researching this further, the tube is not replaceable and the complete door # 241837211 would need to be replaced. If you would like to have a technician check this, you can call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule a tech to come out.

Scott D, The check valve, part # 241603401 is the part that fell off. It is the part that sticks out of the panel that water comes through to fill a glass. I'm sorry I haven't been clear enough earlier. I can't imagine that the whole door would need replacing because of this. Thanks again, Karen

Karen, I talked with the source on this and it would seem the door will need to be replaced if the tube inside is loose. I'm sorry I cannot give you a clear answer but unfortunately, the information about this dispenser is very limited and this is something that would need to be seen. I would recommend having a technician out to actually look at this to see if it can be repaired without having to replace the complete door.
