You did not indicate that the refrigerator is having any cooling problems. The clicking noise could be normal. The image below shows the normal noises that you could hear from components in the refrigerator. The clicking noise could be coming from the cold control thermostat or the defrost timer as shown below. If the refrigerator is working properly, you may not have a failure. If you are having cooling problems, reply with additional details and we will try to assist you further.

You are correct that you should not normally be having any problems with a refrigerator that is only 1 year old. The refrigerator does have electro-mechanical devices that are susceptible to failure at any time. There is a chance that you have a failure that will need to be repaired by a technician. We can often help you with a do-it-yourself repair as long as the failure does not involve the sealed system (compressor and connecting refrigerant tubing).
