Q:

frigerator door gaskets 25365802508

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Kenmore refrigerator model 25365802508. I am so sorry cold air is leaking from the door gaskets. This is an issue that you should definitely get corrected. I will be happy to help you with this.

Even though the gaskets look like they are in good shape, if air is leaking around them, they have lost their effectiveness and should be replaced. A good way to test the seal is with a dollar bill. Close the dollar between the door and the cabinet. Next try to pull the dollar free without opening the door. If the dollar slides out easily the gasket needs to be replaced. Try this on several parts of the gasket all around the doors.

The leaking air will cause the internal temperature of the refrigerator to rise, which in turn means it has to run the compressor more often. This will increase your electric bill and will also wear the refrigerator parts out sooner. I have included the link below in case you need to order the gaskets.

SAFETY WARNING: Disconnect the power supply before beginning your repair to prevent the risk of electrical shock which can result in property damage, serious personal injury or even death. If you are not comfortable completing this repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

Refrig is shorting out on defrost cycle 253.65802508

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your fridge and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 25365802508 and based on the symptom, I suspect this refrigerator may have two problems. The first problem is the defrost system. Manually defrosting the refrigerator may work for 3 weeks. I recommend checking the temperatures inside the refrigerator and freezer. Also, remove the back panel in the freezer, to check for frost on the evaporator. If the frost is turning into a major ice build up on the evaporator, the defrost problem is not fixed. There should be only a small coating of frost on the evaporator. A small coating of frost on the evaporator indicates, the defrost system is fixed and is working properly. Otherwise, the defrost heater, defrost thermostat and timer need to be checked. The heater can be ohmed out with a multimeter. The defrost thermostat can be checked with a multimeter. However, the normal problem with the thermostat is, it does not stay closed long enough to melt the frost off the evaporator. Therefore, I recommend replacing the defrost thermostat, if the other parts test good. The defrost timer can be tested by manually turning the dial until the refrigerator turns off. Next, wait for about 40-45 minutes. If the refrigerator turns back on in about 40 minutes, the defrost timer is working properly. However, if the refrigerator did not turn on after 45 minutes, replace the defrost timer. The second possible problem is the clicking noise. The clicking noise may be the relay having trouble turning on the compressor. If the refrigerator and freezer are slightly warm, that may be the problem.  If the noise is from the rear of the refrigerator, I suspect it is from the start relay. However, if the refrigerator is turning on and cooling properly, the relay is still good. I hope this information helps.  If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.

Q:

shelves 25365802508 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when needing shelves for the refrigerator.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore model number 25365802508.

I am sorry but we can only look up the original parts.  I can order the frame and glass for the bottom if the shelf is the same size as the wire shelves.

I am sorry but it doesn't give me the size/length of these shelves to try and find you a glass shelf that might fit.  Even if you gave me the size, I am sorry but something I cannot do.

The only thing I can suggest you to do is mesure them and check other refrigerators and if you find one that is the same width and length then copy that model number down and you can order glass shelves that way.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com
