Q:

KENMORE REFRIDGERATOR 253.64853400 IS LEAKING INSIDE.

A:

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with the fridge. When the back panel is removed, you will see the evaporator and the drain pan (# 17 in image) mounted under it. In the center of the drain pan will be the drain hole (circled in red). This is where the water will need to be poured. Depending on how far down the ice has accumulated, it can take awhile to clear it. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

Q:

Kenmore refrigerator is leaking inside from top rear. Any suggestions on how to stop it or what might be broken? (I don't have an ice maker)

A:

Thank You for contacting ManageMyLife.com

I can understand your frustration when there is water dripping in your refrigerator. Based on the information you have provided, it sounds like you have condensation build-up and the spot in the back is where the water is collecting and dripping down. Condensation usually happens when the door is not completely sealed. Most common reason for this is a worn out door gasket.

The way you can test your door gasket is to take a dollar bill and place it half way into the door and shut the door. Then if you pull the dollar bill out, if the dollar bill comes out easily then the door gasket needs to be replaced. You would to perform the test the entire length of both door gaskets. If even one spot is not sealed it will cause the condensation build up and raised your electric bill.

I have included a link to our PartsDirect page where you can purchase the part you need to complete your repair. Just click the blue link below to be taken to the page.
