Thank you Anna but unfortunately the sides of my face plate appear to be glued or taped to the front door, I certainly wished I have screws to work with, if only Kenmore would share the removal guide with its customers, hopefully the response from manage my life techs will be precise for this application, again thank you

Good afternoon, I can certainly understand your concern over potentially breaking that part. I have a set of instructions that will allow you to safely remove that part and gain access to the interior of the dispenser. Just follow these step by step instructions:

  1. Unplug the refrigerator to completely disconnect electrical power.
  2. To gain access to the screws in the module cover, you will need to pull the drip tray out at the bottom of the dispenser.
  3. You will see 3 screws at the bottom of the module cover. Remove these screws.
  4. Carefully pull up and out on the module cover to remove it.

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thanks AnneJ, I have 2 screws in the back bottom and 2 in the front, one of the screws in the back bottom broke I will need to drill it out. Also for information the sides have a tacky substance I decided to use a putty knife to get in between the face-plate and the door to loosen it up it seems to work but I will keep you posted on the drilling of the screw. Oh and by the way for thought this refrigerator has a detachable connection at the base of the freezer door in which the harness goes to the dispenser that can be unplugged to disconnect the power to the dispenser so I don't have to empty the refrigerator section. Again thanks
