I know how important it is to have a good working refrigerator in the home so that your food will stay nice and fresh. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link that will provide you with some information about testing your relay. I hope my link is useful.

I'm sorry you are having this problem. The information you have already received is good even though it's for a different model. The checkout procedure for the compressor will be the same. Based on the information listed, it sounds like the relay has shorted and is causing the breaker to trip. Before replacing the relay # 5304410951 and overload # 5304407495, I suggest checking the compressor to see if the winding has shorted. Place the meter leads across any 2 terminals and if the meter shows all zeros, it means the winding is shorted and the compressor will need to be replaced. Make sure the power has been disconnected before making these checks. I would not recommend replacing the compressor on this older unit, unless you have a service policy on it. It would not be economical.

As for the 2 loose wires, the wire diagram does not show these wires. However, some models will use a capacitor and these wires will probably be for the capacitor, if one is used. If there is no capacitor, these wires can be taped off. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, any additional details will be helpful and I will be glad to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

I have a Kenmore refrigerator model 25358672896. I get no water to the ice maker or to the dispenser.

A:

If the refrigerator is running and cooling ok you must have good voltage to the refrigerator.

You need to measure the voltage at the solenoid on the water valve for the water dispenser. Next open the dispenser front and measure voltage to the switches in the dispenser. If the voltage on the switches is 110-120 volts and 60 or so to the solenoid you have a bad connection between the dispenser control and the water valve. The most likely place is where the harness in the door connects to the harness underneath the refrigerator.
