Q:

Model #25358672894 Side-by-side refrigerator- I need a discontinued part, what to do? 25358672894 Kenmore Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I know these bins are very important to have for the refrigerator. Unfortunately, once the manufacturer no longer has the part available, this part is not available. You can try an aftermarket search such as ebay or amazon, however, I cannot guarantee the results you will have. I hope you find the part you are looking for!  Have a great day.

Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. To access the dispenser switches, remove the cover by taking the drip tray out and then remove the screws at the bottom of the cover. Now, you can pry the bottom out and then lift to free the top tabs. Then remove the module by taking out the screws holding it in place. Now you should be able to see the dispenser switches. I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Why won't my refrigerator defrost?

A:

Since you replaced the timer it only leaves the bi-metal and element in the defrost circuit. To check which one, you need to manually put this into a defrost cycle. The coils must be cold (frosted) for this check. Turn the timer knob till the unit shuts off and then disconnect the power from the refrigerator. Now remove the back cover panel in the freezer to access the evaporator coil. At the top of the coil will be a small round disc, this is the bi-metal. Disconnect the wires on the bi-metal and then connect the 2 wires going to the bi-metal together, leaving the 2 wires on the bi-metal loose. Now make sure the wires are not touching anything and reconnect the power. If the element comes on replace the bi-metal it's defective. If the element still won't come on replace the element. This is a hot test and if you don't feel comfortable doing this I recommend calling for a technician. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
