Based on your symptom and details it sounds like you have a component failure in the defrost system. The defrost system consists of a defrost timer, defrost heater and a defrost termination thermostat. The defrost heater (key#14) is located directly below and up both sides of the evaporator coils (key#15) and the defrost termination thermostat (key#21) is located clipped to the evaporator tube in the upper right hand corner. The defrost timer is located behind the front bottom grill over on the left hand side. See #23 at bottom of image. The defrost timer can manually be advanced into the defrost cycle by rotating the slotted stem in a clockwise (CW) direction slowly one click at a time until the compressor and fans shut off. Wait a few minutes and if the heater comes on and begins to defrost the evaporator then this would indicate that the defrost heater and the defrost termination thermostat is Okay. This would mean that the defrost timer has failed to advance into defrost automatically and the defrost timer will need to be removed and replaced. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord before removing and replacing the defrost timer.
