Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your dehumidifier. Upon researching model 25357510791; I don’t recommend opening the switch. It would be best to splice the wires. Then add a butt connector or clip connector.

Thank you for your question. There is a clip # 5304408419 that is available that will correct this problem. It's available at http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-number/5304408419/0042/253?pathTaken=directMatch&filterPart=&pop=flush&prst=0&shdPart=5304408419&sid=MMLxexpertxmerch . Now, a paper clip may work just fine but if doesn't, then this clip is available. I hope this will help you.

Thank you for your question on the dehumidifier icing up.

There could be a couple of reasons that the coil is having ice on the coils.

First it could be that the temperature at the location (in the basement) of the dehumidifier at the floor level is lower that 65 degrees F.

Locate the dehumidifier in a warmer location and sometimes all it takes is to raise it off the floor a few feet.

The other possibility is that the sealed system of the dehumidifier may be low on refrigerant.

This would require a service technician to look at the unit.

Here is a link that will provide the nearest drop-off locations: Sears Home Services .
