Q:

ice dispenser doesn't work

A:

It can be such a terrible thing when your ice dispenser is not dispensing any ice especially on one of those hot days when you want to drink a cold beverage. I have taken some time to further your search here on Manage My Life and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I have attached the link below if you are interested in viewing. I hope this helps!

You did not mention whether the water dispenser works. If the light switch for the freezer is bad, the dispenser will not get power to operate the water or the ice dispenser. If the water dispenser is dead as well, open the freezer door and check to see if the freezer light turns off when you press in the freezer door light switch. If it stays on then the freezer door switch will need to be replaced. Unplug the refrigerator before accessing internal components. You can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website.

If the water dispenser is working, you could have a problem with the ice dispenser switch or a wiring failure in the circuit. A technician will likely need to diagnose and repair this type of problem. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you are advanced in technical skills, you may be able to use the wiring diagram and access information shown below to diagnose this failure yourself. NOTE: This information is intended for technicians. Follow electrical safety guidelines when using this data. Unplug the refrigerator to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components. The second image shows a refrigerator that is similar to yours. Your refrigerator will look different but the basic access procedure is the same.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.
