Question and Answers

Q:

Where is the defrost timer or defrost control on a Kenmore refrigerator? 253.56973602

A:

Thank you for choosing sears, I will be more than happy to assist you with your Kenmore side by side refrigerator.

In regards to the defrost timer/control, it will be located on the evaporator assembly in the back of the freezer. You will need to remove the back panel for the freezer section to locate this part. It will also be a good idea to check the actual defrost element for any piece that may look broken or burnt to see if that is working properly. This will be located in same area along the evaporator.

I hope you found this information helpful. Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. We appreciate your business

Hi Scott, Thankyou very much for your help. I am amazed how much work I had to do to find out this answer. I called sears, kenmore, and whirlpool. Went through phone banks all over the country and india to find out a simple specification. Kenmore customer service is far from being customer friendly, they do not seem to understand the customer needs. I looked up two of your competitors sites and found about 300 refrigerators. All the refrigerators spec's included sizes and cubic ft. I know you are closing 100 stores. Start looking at things from the customers eyes. thankyou
