Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem. Now, if the compressor is not running, both the fridge and freezer sections will not cool. In this case, the problem could be with the compressor itself or the starting device. A technician will have a kit that connects to the compressor, to help determine, which part has failed. If the compressor is trying to start, you can take a chance and replace the starting device # 241527803 and the capacitor # 218909915. If it still won't start, then the compressor would need to be replaced. These parts are available at SearsPartsDirect . I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further. Any additional details will also be helpful.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Is the water hose in the freezer door one piece?

A:

The water tube in the door is one piece and there is no valve in the door. If you don't have water at the dispenser it could be due to the following:

  • Frozen water tube in the door
  • Defective water valve
  • Diode
  • Water switch in the dispenser
The water line can freeze if the freezer gets too cold (below zero) or from a void in the door insulation. You can check the freezer temperature by placing a thermometer in between some packages, meat packages work the best. The most common problem is with the diode. You will need a meter to check the diode, valve and switch. A technician will have the proper equipment to make these checks. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
