Question and Answers

Q:

ice dispenser stuck on "crushed" 25355693405 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your icemaker and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number 25355693405  first you will need to remove the ice tray. You'll notice a steel rod The bottom of the ice tray that actuates a lever to channel cubed ice to become crushed. The problem is not here. The problem is at the back of the freezer. The lever that moves this rod from one position to the other must freeze. Reach into the opening and gently work the white lever up and down til it moves freely. Before replacing the ice tray make sure this works for you by closing the freezer door and going through the selections. Notice the position of the white lever in the back of the freezer each time you switch it  from cubed to crush and vice versa.

If you have further questions please let me know.
Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Q:

How do I install the water actuator 241685703 on a Kenmore Model 25355693405?

A:

Remove the drip pan from the dispenser and unplug the refrigerator.

Remove the screws along the bottom of the dispenser. NOTE: I you do not find screws, push down on the top of the dispenser cover and then pry out of the bottom of the cover with a flat tip screw driver. This will release the dispenser cover.

Pull the bottom of the dispenser out and lift it up to remove it.

Remove the screws holding the bracket the actuator mounts on.

This will let you replace the water actuator.

Q:

How do I stop the green filter light from going on every time I dispense water from my refrigerator?

A:

According to your owner’s manual (page 14), the FILTER RESET indicator light above the Touch Pad will light up each timer the dispenser is used.

After the filter cartridge has been changed, press and hold the FILTER RESET button for 10 to 15 seconds. The Green, Red and Amber lights will flash when the reset is completed. This will reset the filter status light.

Resetting the filter status light will not prevent the FILTER RESET indicator light from lighting up each time the dispenser is used on this model. It will continue to turn on each time water is dispensed. This is normal. You only need to reset the indicator when you change the filter.
