Question and Answers

Q:

What happened to the water dispenser?

A:

The water line may have froze, while not in use or the water valve may have failed. First check the reservoir to see if it froze. Pull out the crispers and you will see the reservoir. Take the reservoir loose and check the water inside, to see if it's frozen. If some water is frozen, use a hair dryer to thaw it out. Just don't get it too hot. If it's ok, now check the water line. This can be done by disconnecting the water line, at the connection, under the freezer door (some water will come out). Now activate the dispenser and if water comes out under pressure, it indicates the water line in the door is frozen. Leave the door open for awhile, to allow it time to thaw out. Normally, this just takes a few minutes. If no water comes out, it indicates a possible defective water valve. If you can hear a humming noise, the valve will need to be replaced. If nothing happens, some voltage checks will need to be made. A technician may be needed for this. I'm listing a site you can check to have a tech out.
