A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
With Kenmore refrigerator models, the cu/ft identifier is the third digit past the prefix of 253. In this case, numeral 6 is the identifier of 26 cu/ft.
Hopefully this helps and let us know if we can be of any further assistance. Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

Hi, I have a kenmore side-by-side fridge. Model number 253.54622400. The Ice will not fall out of the door opening. The auger is turning.

A:

Having ice on demand is a convenient way to cool down from the summer heat. It is upsetting to not have that option. If you would like to schedule a technician to visit, diagnose and repair an option is the Sears Home Services link below. I did locate a similar question with expert answer. It is not your model but you can check for ideas if you wish.

Since the auger is turning, the components in the control system of the dispenser are apparently okay. Check to see if the ice chute door is opening properly. Check the ice chute for a clog of ice cubes. If the ice chute door is opening properly and you find no clog in the ice chute, then I recommend that you pull that ice bucket out and run warm water through the front ice crusher assembly. You could have a build-up of ice debris this clogging this area. Completely thaw any ice in that area and then let the ice bucket air dryer before placing it back in the freezer. Shut the ice maker off while the ice bucket is out of the freezer. If the ice still won't dispense after following these tips, then you probably have a mechanical failure in the bucket.

These tips may help you resolve this ice dispenser problem. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
