Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your ice maker not working on the refrigerator. We are here to help. I recommend removing the water filter and install the bypass. Next, push the water dispenser lever and run a gallon of water out. Also, notice if the water is coming out fast or slow. Wait about 4 hours and then check the ice maker. If there is water in the ice maker, reinstall the filter repeat the process from above. If the water flow stops to the ice maker, replace the filter. Now, if there was no water to the ice maker with the bypass, check for a frozen line in the freezer. Place a hot rag on the little water tube in the freezer to the ice maker for about a hour. The image below shows hot to cycle the ice maker. You don't have to turn the gear, just hold the pressure for 5-10 seconds. Next, the motor will start turning the eject arm. Watch the ejectors turn and just before it stops, it should energize the water fill solenoid. valve. You should hear the solenoid engage, even if it doesn't fill. If it is engaging the solenoid and no water you probably have more ice in the fill tube. If the solenoid does not engage, the fill switch inside the icemaker is probably bad. It is the switch that runs on the cam. I hope this helps.

Q:

Why won't my replacement ice maker fit properly?

A:

According to your model number (253.54362404), I am showing that your refrigerator requires part number 240599901 for a replacement ice maker. This part and the original part that you noted above (241627701) should substitute to ice maker part number 241696501 (not 5303918344). The part number 5303918344 ice maker does not appear to be the correct part. I recommend that you contact the parts department and obtain the correct part for the ice maker replacement.

When you receive the new ice maker replacement part, the air deflector attached to the ice stripper of the old ice maker should be removed and placed on the new replacement ice maker. This will prevent cubes from falling out of the ice bucket and onto the top of the bucket support.

If the correct ice maker is installed and the arm is catching on the ice cream shelf, you can order a revised ice cream shelf to replace the original one. The original part number of your ice cream shelf is 241558901. It will substitute to part number 241691801. The new shelf is designed to eliminate this problem.

This information should help you resolve your ice maker problem. If you need more help or information, resubmit your question with additional details.
