Q:

Why is the food on the refrigerator side freezing? 25353719301 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

I do understand your concern in getting your refrigerator in working condition, I will be glad to assist you today. What can be happening is this cause is that sometimes the damper stays open too long, allowing too much air in the refrigerator section. Another possiblity can be the thermostat running to long. I do recommend reseting the whole unit by unplugging it. Changing the settings will take to cool again, I recommend setting it at the manufactuer setting. If you do need to order parts, you can go to: Sears Parts Direct website. Damper part number is 5304424968. If you do not feel confident in this repair, you can have a service techician go to your home. To set service you can go to: Sears Home Services. Hope this information is helpful, if you need additional information please reply to the thread below with specific details. Thank you for choosing Manage My Life.com.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your ice dispenser. There could be a few reasons for this problem. There is a gate in the crusher mechanism that has to open, in order to get cubed ice. When the gate opens, the cubes fall out before they enter the crusher. A solenoid has to be activated, that in turn lifts an arm, attached to the gate, to open it. If this solenoid is not getting energized, it won't open the gate or the solenoid will sometimes freeze up and stick. A good way to check if it's frozen is, to remove the bucket, so you can see the auger motor housing. Disconnect power to the unit and now use a hair dryer on the section of the housing where the bucket arm fits into. After heating it up (be careful not to overheat it), if it starts working, there is an updated rear cover that will help eliminate this problem. It's available at Sears Parts Direct . This cover will only work, if the icemaker mounts on the side wall. If it mounts on the back wall, this cover cannot be used. If the solenoid still won't work, some voltage checks will need to be made. A technician may be needed to make these checks. If you would like to schedule service, just click on this link: Sears Home Services . I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the dispenser stops working. Now, if you can hear the auger motor humming, it indicates that it's getting voltage to it but it's locked (stuck). In this case, the motor # 5304462594 will need to be replaced. It's available at SearsPartsDirect . To replace the motor, first disconnect power to the unit. Now pull the ice bucket out and you will have access to the motor housing (# 20 in picture). The second picture will also include instructions to replace the auger motor. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
